Cried reading the section on Prophet Yusuf. Just sat there at my desk at work with tears running down my face. I've known that story since I was a kid but I never understood what it was actually teaching me about my own life until I read it in this book. I'm 42 and going through some stuff right now and that chapter felt like it was written directly to me. Cant recommend this enough.

Right so I was properly sceptical about this. I've tried so many "simplified" quran books and they always end up being either too dumbed down or just a translation with a different cover. This is genuinely neither. Its got real depth but its written like a human being is talking to you, not lecturing at you. I do wish there was more on the historical context of revelation, like the asbab al nuzul for each section, but thats me being picky honestly. For what it is, its brilliant. Recommended it to my book club already and two of them have ordered.

The design tho. Seriously. I've bought islamic books that look like they were formatted in Microsoft Word 2003. This feels completely different. The typography, the spacing, the way each page breathes, you can tell a designer made this, not just an author. It matters more than people think. I actually WANT to pick this up. Its sitting on my desk right now instead of in a drawer. Thats saying something.
